In my current position as a Social Media and Communications Specialist at American Student Assistance and with my previous roles as a Content Marketing Manager for HomeExchange, a Social Media and Marketing Associate at Nimble, Inc., and a Content Intern at JumpStart Games, I wrote blog posts for a diverse range of audiences. At HomeExchange, my written content targeted travelers who were mothers with young kids, empty nesters, and retirees. While working at Nimble, I was faced with writing to an audience that looked very different from my previous readers. With JumpStart, I was tasked with writing content that would appeal to players between the ages of 8-12 who were interested in one of the company’s games. As you’ll see below, I had to shift my writing style to target audiences across different demographics, from B2C children’s entertainment to B2B salesmen and business owners hoping to network with others in their industry, to people searching for a more affordable way to travel.
